10/21: Call for consultancy to elaborate a management plan of Tyre Coast Nature Reserve in Lebanon

Tyre

UNEP/MAP-SPA/RAC is jointly collaborating with the Ministry of Environment (MoE) to elaborate a management plan of Tyre Coast Nature Reserve in Lebanon.

Tyre Coast Nature Reserve is among the potential sites to be declared as a Specially Protected Area of Mediterranean Importance (SPAMI) in the framework of the joint work carried out by the Ministry of Environment and SPA/RAC.

The management plan to be elaborated aims to improve the management of the Reserve terrestrial, coastal and marine heritage components, and ensure its conservation.

The mission to be undertaken would allow to analyse the interactions, covering all aspects, of the Reserve perimeter with its environments, both near and further away, and propose not only a management plan containing actions for the protection, valorisation and the preservation of the Reserve but also modalities and mechanisms for the partnership and the participation of the local stakeholders in the future management and promotion of the protected area.

The terms of reference including the conditions of participation, evaluation procedure and other useful information relating to this call for tenders, are available on the following link.

The study receives the financial support of the European Union, through the regional project "Towards achieving the good environmental status of the Mediterranean Sea and coast through an ecologically representative and efficiently managed and monitored network of marine protected areas" (“IMAP-MPA Project”).
