The new publication, "The turtles, dolphins and whales Tunisia: biodiversity and conservation efforts", presents the status of cetaceans and turtles in Tunisia, as well as their importance to the ecosystem and the protection measures.

The document has been elaborated in the framework of the project "Strengthening of Cetacean stranding network in Tunisia", executed by the National Institute of Marine Sciences and Technologies (INSTM) in collaboration with "Association Jeunes Science Kerkennah" (AJSK), and  financed by ACCOBAMS.

The two main components of the project are : (1) the formalization of the turtles and cetaceans stranding network (2) the improvement of the network functioning, through the organization of training sessions and awareness activities, the creation of a website, the introduction of information in the MEDACES database and the establishment of a tissue bank.
