Information on Non-Indigenous Species (NIS) in the Mediterranean varies considerably depending on the source – both with respect to the number of introductions and the relative importance of pathways of introduction. In relation to pathways, this is due to a number of factors including differences in the terminology used in different analyses, the fact that the importance of any particular pathway can change over time, and that the importance may differ from one sub-region to the next.

In this context, SPA/RAC launches this call for consultancy is to update the Guidelines for controlling the vectors of introduction into the Mediterranean of NIS and invasive marine species and the Guide for risk analysis assessing the impacts of the introduction of NIS updated taking into account the Mediterranean Strategy on Ships’ Ballast Water Management (BMW) and the Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Programme of the Mediterranean Sea and Coast (IMAP).

To participate in this call for consultancy, please read the terms of reference.

Proposals must be received electronically at the following e-mail address: car-asp@spa-rac.org, before 28 February 2023 11:59 pm UTC+1 (Tunis Time).
