SPA/RAC is launching a call for tenders aiming at the development of a web application dedicated to the evaluation of the Specially Protected Areas of Mediterranean Importance (SPAMIs)

In order to promote cooperation in the management and conservation of natural areas, as well as in the protection of threatened species and their habitats, the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention have drawn up, in 2001, the “List of Specially Protected Areas of Mediterranean Importance” (SPAMI List). Marine and coastal protected areas included in the SPAMI List are subject to ordinary periodic reviews, every six years, counting from the date of their inclusion in the List.

During their COP 21 (Naples, Italy, 2-5 December 2019), the Contracting Parties have adopted an updated version of the format used for the periodic review of SPAMIs.

This updated format should be developed as a web application, i.e. the online “SPAMI Evaluation System”, to be part of the “SPAMI Collaborative Platform” (https://spami.medchm.net/en), already developed by SPA/RAC.

For this aim, SPA/RAC is launching a call for tenders, that is open to consulting firms, service provider companies and consortia of individual consultants.

Offers must be received electronically at the following e-mail addresses: car-asp@spa-rac.org; cc: souha.asmi@spa-rac.org, no later than Tuesday 3 November 2020, at 23:59 UTC+1 (Tunis Time).

The terms of reference, conditions of participation, evaluation procedure and all the other useful information concerning this call for tenders are detailed at the following link. Offers could be made either in English or in French.
